This ride is for anyone wanting to ride as a group from Vancouver, across the interstate bridge through Delta Park, and into the kickoff ride. I led this ride last year, which was received well by a dozen of us. Thanks again to cyclevancouver.bike, Jason and Israel, for the patchwork on my flat we had last year in Delta Park. Just another example of the benefit of traveling as a group. Ride leaves a little early, which gives you ample time to chill grab a bite to eat and watch the crowds build for the kickoff of events. Come join one of your Clark County BPAC (bicycle and pedestrian advisory committee) volunteers for an opportunity to give input on anything that's on your mind with cycling infrastructure in Clark county.

It's that time of year again! Find your bike and lets ride from Beaverton Transit Center to the kickoff location. We will be taking the usual route up over the hill via the Sunset Hwy path and the zoo. For the uninitiated this does include a fairly steep hill. Our pace and route choice will focus on being as comfortable as possible for a variety of riders, including families, but please be cautious of the hill (both climbing and descending) with very young kids. We do have places to be so while I anticipate giving ourselves plenty of time to not rush, we will try to leave on schedule.

Honestly I don't want to travel to Kerns again for the Queer kickoff R2R so we're gonna do one in the Westside! PLEASE BRING YOUR GAYNESS FROM THE WESTSIDE AND MAKE YOURSELF BE SHOWN AND SEEN AT SUNSET TC, AS WE RIDE INTO THIS YEAR'S PRIDE MONTH AND BIKE SUMMER SIMULTANEOUSLY, YOU LOVELY PEOPLE!! This ride will be taking the Sunset Highway MUP and joining with Tim's Beaverton R2R along the way. There will be a decent amount of climbing, so please be prepared. The route is also fairly long, but that's what happens when we come from afar.

Ok, we're riding up to Alberta Park, oof. I'm working on the route options, will post here when ready. It's looking like it'll be 8ish miles with 250-300 feet of elevation, we'll plan a break or two in the middle and possibly a refreshment stop. Generally, we'll gather at 4, leave at 4:30 (which will actually be about 4:45) and I'm budgeting an hour or so for the ride. Zach can’t make it, shame on him!

Ravin' Roll Kicks-off Bike Summer 2026! We'll dance a bit beforehand then roll with enough time head up to Alberta Park to relax & enjoy before the big ride! We may even take a rest/bathroom stop as needed since our route is ~9 miles with climbing. We'll be jamming to Ravin' Roll energy up to and during the Kickoff Ride, so you're welcome to hang tight if you like the music and vibes! :-D As always Ravin' Roll perpetuates Shift Code of Conduct, Consent, PLURR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, Responsibility), Leave No Trace. We will do our best to balance "no drop" and timely arrival at Alberta Park.

Ride bikes together with kids and families, from Grant Park to Alberta Park for the start of Pedalpalooza’s Bike Summer Kick-Off ride! This is a moderate paced ride, for kids on bikes and parents on cargo bikes. We’ll ride 3.5 miles from the playground in Grant park, to the Alberta, which will be the start of the Pedalpalooza kick-off ride. We will ride at 515pm sharp and should arrive at Peninsula Park at about 5:45pm, so you have time to pick up t-shirts and pennants, while kids can use the playground or enjoy other activities. Then at 6:30pm you can also join us if you want to ride the whole route of the Kick-Off Ride , along with other families and kids. That ride will be 5 miles long and has several hills, so younger kids may need to switch to a trailer or cargo bike with a grown-up. While our ride is 3.5 miles one-way and and mostly flat and will be fine for grade schooler on their own bikes, if you do the whole loop along with the Kick-Off Ride it will be 8 miles total, so it would be appropriate for 4th grade plus, or younger kids who are strong fast confident riders, to ride their own bike the whole way. Our ride will be suitable for young bike riders who can pedal their own bike uphill in a straight line. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to ride in a straight line without training wheels, start and stop, and follow instructions. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for younger or less confident kids, or in case kids get tired of pedaling. Adults without kids can also join the ride as corkers to help with traffic safety. We’ll ride together as a group, rain or shine, because kids are traffic too!

Welcome to Mellow Mondays 2026. Are you interested in leading a ride? This is a supportive and organized way to lead for the first time. Every week there’s different themes but there are constants…. Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

Bicycle Kitty rides

One of the best thing to happen because of the pandemic is summer yoga at The Side Yard Farm. Let's ride bikes together to this amazing urban farm and practice yoga with a view of the growing flowers and veggies. This is a ~30 minute ride followed by an hour yoga practice. You MUST pre-register for the yoga class prior to the event (see link). Space is limited and those not pre-registered and without a signed waiver will be turned away. Class is donation-based to raise funds for The Bhakti Yoga Movement Center's equity fund. Suggested donation $20. Beginner friendly, all abilities welcome. There are steps to get to the practice lawn and the space is unpaved with wood chip paths. This ride is not a loop. We will ride together to the Farm, practice yoga, and then depart on our own routes and schedule. I'm happy to guide back to inner SE Portland on my way home. Bring a yoga mat or a towel, water, and maybe a snack. We do need to climb Alameda Ridge to get to the Farm, so there are 2 blocks of pretty solid up-hill on the journey. This is a no-drop ride and we will regroup as needed.

Back for a third year, with a new process to make sure everyone is served! (sorry for the long lines last year) Join a special after-school Ice Cream Bike Bus to 50 Licks on Clinton. Every kid will get a free scoop, but donations will be needed to cover costs if you're able. We'll be rolling from Glencoe, Richmond, Creston, Sunnyside, and Abernethy after school. If you want to join, but don't go to one of these schools, simply show up on the route and join up when we roll by. Kids are welcome to attend without their adults, and can be picked up at 50 Licks before 5pm. Some schools will provide a Bike Bus from 50 Licks back to school grounds. If your kid normally attends after-school programs, please make sure you make arrangements to skip normal aftercare for the day. Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, rolling out from Salmon Street Springs every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic, party-paced social ride with warmth and weirdness from our welcoming “rolling dive bar” regulars. Most rides feature regularly spaced park and store stops, generally leading to a lively end spot around 11 PM. Come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. Strong Thursday traditions, stronger shared expectations. While you might see some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct. Casual ride to art galleries for the First Friday Art Walk. First Friday Art Walk is a monthly tradition where inner SE art galleries stay open late, bring in artists, have free food, and have hands-on arts projects. http://firstfridaypdx.org/ Biking is the best way to get around to these galleries. We get to 5-8 galleries, depending on how long our group spends in each gallery. We don't know exact routes and galleries, because we decide in the moment. We'll stay out until ~9:30pm, then see if folks are up for a group dinner afterwards. Join for as many galleries as you like, and leave when you wish. If you have a sound system bring it! I love music on group rides. Ride details: 5-15 minutes of biking between galleries. Our ride is perfect for new cyclists and families with kids. We'll go at a slow pace so folks can socialize, and everyone can keep up. We use small neighborhood streets with minimal cars. The ride ends at a different location from the start. If you need advice for how to bike home afterwards or get to your car, chat with the ride leader.

We honor the legacy of one of the great Ambassadors for Portland and lifelong Bike Advocate Bill Walton who lead the Portland Trail Blazers to their one and only Championship in 1977. The Big Red Head and Famed Dead Head was literally one of the biggest (definitely the tallest) Grateful Dead Fans on the planet. Truly one of the great humanists of his generation. The Grateful Dead will be the primary music of choice accompanying the ride. Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Riders should be self sufficient and have a plan for getting themselves home. This is a bicycle-forward group ride. Pedal-assist ebikes are ok (class 1 & 2). Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Have you never heard an Outdoor Warning/Tornado/Air Raid Siren in your life? Or maybe you used to live in the Midwest and miss the electromechanical harmony they produce! Well this ride will take us to Gaston, located in beautiful rural Washington County, about a 13 mile ride, with not too much climbing from downtown Hillsboro. They happen to have an electromechanical siren (one that actually has moving parts, not a giant speaker) that they restored a couple years back, and they test it every first Saturday at noon! It is a Federal Signal 3T22, one of the most iconic American sirens ever made. This ride is an OUT AND BACK format, meaning we will be starting at Hillsboro Civic Centre, heading to Gaston, and then heading back to HCC via the same way, which is about 26 miles round trip. We will try our best not to drop on this ride, however we cannot delay too much, as the siren sounds sharply at noon, and there is only finite buffer time. Also, there is NO RELIABLE BUS OR MAX SERVICE AFTER LEAVING HILLSBORO. This means that if you are riding an EBike, to make sure you have enough range, and for anyone that your bike is in good condition, and that you have enough water and snacks, so that you do not need to be "rescued" home. We will make some stops along the way to carb up, hydrate, and enjoy the view! I do not recommend children, as the overall length is quite long, however if you would like to bring children in the Westside, consider looking at my Kidical Mass rides.

Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Arrive at PSU Market ~11 am Ride is on every Saturday the market is open (year round except weekend between Christmas and New Year). For those of us raised on PBS, we are familiar with the shows Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow, etc. This ride will honor PBS and those gentle memories it provided(s). Take a ride through my neighborhood (SE PDX) while we listen to tunes from the show and channel alike. There wont be a store stop, but we will take pauses at parks along the way, so plan your snacks accordingly. *ride may incorporate gravel/unpaved alleyways* This is a no drop ride and is socially paced! Come ride or race bikes in a fun little scavenger hunt in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood (and a bit beyond). We'll meet at the picnic tables on the west side of Brentwood Park. Riders/racers will be given a manifest and a paper map (no digital wayfinding allowed!). This year's alley alley catty will feature alleys! These alleys are "unimproved" (not paved) so consider your bike and tire choice wisely. Find as few or as many locations as you'd like, then head to the Foster Food Carts for a finish line prize party. Bring a pen. Bicycle Kitty rides

Back for its 16th year, Get Lost! is a Pedalpalooza Bike Ride led entirely by chance. Dice are rolled to determine how many blocks to ride, and which direction to turn once we get there (odd total = R, even =L). We ride until we find a natural end point. Feel free to bail whenever you wanna go somewhere else. You never know what to expect. Since we won't be taking designated bike routes riders should be pretty comfortable in semi-hairy conditions, but dangerous or illegal routes will not be traveled. Time for Master Ramies very 1st Light Brigade Ride! We start at Lone Fir Cemetery heading down to Ladds, South Waterfront, PSU, Central Eastside, Downtown and wrap up in the Pearl District. The boundaries for Inner City Shenanigans are: Tilikum Bridge SE & NE 28th NE Broadway to NW Thurman Along the base of the West Hills to the South Waterfront.

Juice Box Bike Club presents a Daycare Ride A ride for people who need to get their tiny humans napped by noon-ish, but still want to have a good time riding around during Pedalpalooza. Bring bubble machines, bubble makers, colorful flags, noise makers and the like to the ride. Corkers would be appreciated for this since we have to cross Stark and Morrison. Ride will start at Seawall Crest Playground, we'll make our way on 34th over to the Laurelhurst Park Playground for our first stop, then meander downhill Pine or Ankeny and veer back south on 16th/17th street to end at the Splashpad at Colonel Summers park. Total of 3 miles, 17 mins that we'll stretch out across 1.5 hrs :) The ride leaders will bring juice boxes and goldfish to share. Meet at 10am, roll by 10:20am. Learn how to use the two bikelanesweeper.com trailers and a custom trike sweeper. We'll meet at Go By Bike to discuss and demonstrate the sweepers, then go ride to several types of bike infrastructure to review techniques, strategy, and considerations for keeping lanes usable. You can try pulling the sweeper trailers from your own bike if you have a burley trailer hitch on your rear axle, or try temporarily trading bikes with someone with a hitch. An e-bike is often necessary to pull the trailers up hills.

Join us for a combination bike ride and making music in various parks, as we take a ‘ukulele and friends acoustic jam. All acoustic instruments transportable by bike are welcome! Singers, that means you, too! No one turned away for lack of uke! We will play a few songs at our meeting spot, ride to our next destination, play a few more songs, ride on, etc. No riding while playing, nor vice versa, planned. This will not be an arduous ride, and we will stick to bike-friendly streets. The ride is NOT a loop but the final stop is only a five-minute ride from the start. If you haven’t ridden with your instrument, give it a try before the ride so you find the right fit / position on your bike or on your back (tip for riding with a backpack-style case: adjust the shoulder straps on your case so your instrument sits diagonally on your back, giving your head and helmet more room). Helmets and water bottles are strongly urged, as well as any snacks you may want during the ride (there will not be any store stops). Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, rolling out from Salmon Street Springs every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic, party-paced social ride with warmth and weirdness from our welcoming “rolling dive bar” regulars. Most rides feature regularly spaced park and store stops, generally leading to a lively end spot around 11 PM. Come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. Strong Thursday traditions, stronger shared expectations. While you might see some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct. If you’ve been asked not to attend *any* Shift rides, you are not welcome at TNR—that’s not up for debate on our ride. We need to volunteers to cork in a calm and respectful manner for Bike Play. Look for the folks in the Pink Vests. Please don’t bother the performers as they prepare. The route is very easy to cork and 6-8 people per night helping keep the ride safe and flowing is incredibly important. The performers need to focus on their Art and the riders are mostly families and having corking support allows parents to relax more. This is a very nice ride to cork as there’s kids and drivers are a lot more patient when they see children. If you’re not used to corking please try and attend one of the brief corker trainings on Mellow Mondays or arrive early enough to have a quick chat. It’s very easy and is mostly waving and being polite.

After a last minute ride in 2025, we are back with an expanded, improved, updated and better than ever pink ride! As with last year, while we idealize pink bikes, there is no gatekeeping, no hard lines, no limitations to who can come to the ride (except cops, ice agents, terfs or the iof). Red, mauve, and rose bikes are wonderful; pink clothes, pink hairstyles, or pink decorated bikes are great. Pink attitudes are wonderful too. However! If you want to paint your bike for the ride reach out a couple of weeks early! We painted one of our crew's bikes last year and it was so much fun. We will help disassemble and paint or advise you on your project. (This offer may be revoked but it seems like a good idea on the full moon.) We will be providing pink streamers, fabric and spoke cards for the first 50 riders, so if you come ahead of time we can get you decorated. There will be pink lemonade and hibiscus tea; byo mug, bottle or cup, but if the free pile and thrift gods are blessing us we will have some pink drinking vessels. May it be so. Ride will be between 6-10 miles and very slow paced with lots of stops and photo ops. We will definitely go by Pink Vintage and Champagne Poetry. There are no snack stops planned though we will have time to eat snacks. Stay tuned for custom snacks from our bakery-having friends.

Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. The route is very easy to cork and 6-8 people per night helping keep the ride safe and flowing is incredibly important. The performers need to focus on their Art and the riders are mostly families and having corking support allows parents to relax more. This is a very nice ride to cork as there’s kids and drivers are a lot more patient when they see children. If you’re not used to corking please try and attend one of the brief corker trainings on Mellow Mondays or arrive early enough to have a quick chat. Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Arrive at PSU Market ~11 am Ride is on every Saturday the market is open (year round except weekend between Christmas and New Year). We will make every effort to note weather-related closures here promptly.

This ride will be a relatively short, casual paced ride for families looking to get out and spend some time with their kids using pedal power! The goal is to get more families into riding bicycles instead of driving everywhere, and showing families safe neighbourhood spots and paths in Washington County! The party will kick off at Tobias Elementary School in Aloha at 10am, and the closest MAX stop is at Quatama. We will depart at 11am and ride en masse to Handel's in Reed's Crossing (South Hillsboro) The closest transit at the end is the Line 57 Bus on TV Highway, which runs every 15 minutes. (Be advised that children's bikes can be taken on board, whereas full size bikes will need to use the rack on the front.) The ride will be about 2 miles on a very flat powerline trail. One thing to note is that if you have a steel bicycle, or steel components, the power lines we ride under are strong enough to conduct off of them, and will cause an unpleasant shocking sensation. Consider checking if your bike has steel parts by doing a simple magnet stick test. All people and all wheels are welcome! Please be respectful of any children who come along, as the last thing we want to do is discourage them from cycling.

Then join us for a deeply factual tour of the city’s most legendary landmarks and utterly true history. We’ve spent minutes in the local library, definitely reading microfilm and not just making stuff up. On this ride/skate, you'll uncover long-lost stories of Portland’s tumultuous past, like the original layout of the city was optimised for carrier pigeons, and that is why falcons were banned within city limits until as recently as 1974. You’ve heard of the Dead Freeways Ride exploring the Portland freeways we’ve never built or removed entirely, but what about all the freeways that did get built? Did you know that the majority of Portland-area freeways are legally open to bikes and non-motorized vehicles? Did you know that you can legally bike onto the freeway in Portland and bike all of the way to Oregon City (or even Medford) before having to exit? A representative from the Bureau of John Russell will be on hand to familiarize everyone with the intricacies of OAR 734-20-0045: Prohibition of Non-Motorized Vehicles on Freeways. He’ll show you the ropes, having ridden every mile of freeway in Western Oregon himself. Since the original route in 2019, the Bureau of John Russell has led Live Freeways on a group ride of every segment of freeway open to bikes in the Portland metro area! Meet at 11, ride at 11:30 AM. We’ll be starting in SW Portland at the Goose Hollow MAX Station (SW 18th & Jefferson). For the main portion of the ride, we’ll climb over the West Hills on US 26 before getting to ride the entire length of the newly widened OR 217. We’ll continue onto I-5 on the widest segment of freeway in all of Oregon before taking a more scenic route via the comparatively bucolic I-205 where we can stop for lunch in Oregon City. From there, enjoy an optional return route of under 20 miles back to Portland mostly via Expressways, hopefully in time for Bike Play (Oregon Park @ 6:45 PM). In total, the ride will be under 50 miles. While the route is not guaranteed to loop, we will connect to the TriMet on each end, so please bring appropriate fare unless you want to bike the whole way home. Alley Cats on your fast road bike or fixie are fun, but let's spice it up a bit. Bring whatever bike you want to this alley cat but points will be awarded for weirdness. Examples of weirdness include: extra long bikes, bikes with a number of wheels that is not 2, bikes with wheels of dramatically different size, extra short bikes, tall bikes, you get the idea. If you're thinking, man none of my bikes are very weird, you can either, find a friend with a weird bike you can borrow, or dress up your bike to make it weird, effort spent to make it fun/funny will be rewarded (but do please stay safe) Ebikes are welcome but will have a time penalty. Teams are welcome, but scoring will be per machine (so 2 of you riding on separate bikes will be scored separately, but 2 together on 1 bike would be scored together). The Overlook monthly rides are free, family-friendly, and offer an opportunity to get outside and meet neighbors in a conversational paced ride that explores the many bike paths, routes, and destinations that Overlook has to offer. This is a ride to support awareness for organ donation, specially pediatric organ donation and Children’s Organ Transplant Association! It's a casual and fun ride that is kid and family centered. Will start at Laurelhurst Park at 11:00am and rally at the playground, will do a few laps around the park, and then we will head to Gateway Green at 11:30am on bikes via Ankeny, NE 41st, Davis, NE 47th, Everett, NE 58th, Davis, NE 71st, Burnside, and NE 99th. We hope to arrive at Gateway Green 12:30pm and then have fun riding there, where there are a lot of bike jumps that Calendula's big sibling loves! To help celebrate and call attention to the ride, you can decorate your bikes with calendulas or other flowers or hearts or other organs to celebrate Calendula's journey and promote organ donation awareness. We will have signage for COTA in honor of Calendula and organ donor forms and giveaways from Donate Life Northwest. This ride is organized by the mom and 10-year-old sibling of Calendula, who is a 2-year-old who just received a heart transplant! This was after living at Seattle Children’s hospital for over a year. We're celebrating with community and enjoying life outside the hospital… We are so lucky that someone shared the gift of life with us through pediatric organ donation and we're no longer living in the hospital. As an anarchist mom having lived in Portland for 22 years, storytimes, seed giveaways, and bike rides with Bike Summer! feel true to our roots as we endeavor to promote COTA in honor of Calendula and pediatric organ donation. We learned on our journey that transplant wait times are actually longer here in the Pacific Northwest! Our family is on the other side of having waited for an organ, but the experience has left us with a passion for potentially helping other children and families to not have to endure such long hospital stays and more intense medical interventions, separations, and isolation. This event is outside, but we ask those who are able to mask to do so, we will provide n95 masks and we will provide hand sanitizer. This helps keep events accessible to people like Calendula, who are immune compromised. Please message blue crow, Calendula's mama, with any questions or feedback or ideas about the event! Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer and collect dry non perishables for food donations every month. ​We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. Everyone loves Bike Happy Hours! That's why we're bringing another one to Northern Washington County from 1630-1900! Happy Hour is NOT a ride in itself, but there will be a ride immediately after, at 1900! A good way to meet new cycling friends in the Westside and beyond, or keep in touch with old friends! Everyone is welcome to join along, maybe grab a drink, eat some good food, or just show your presence. Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. We're back for The Second Annual Linus Pauling Ride! Who is Linus Pauling, you might be asking yourself? Only the man, the myth, the father of molecular biology, the vitamin C guy, the multi-Nobel Prize-winning legend! This Portland-born icon has left an indelible mark on all our lives, but his footprint in Portland is sort of... invisible. On this ride, we'll visit all the secret Linus Pauling haunts and memorials that the city has to offer, from his boyhood home, to a mysterious Linus Pauling shrine, to a bar that *used* to have a Linus Pauling-themed cocktail on its menu. Last year this ride drew in people who know way more about science than we do, so be prepared to be in community with some extremely smart and wonderful people on this one. We'll start at Ladd's Circle and visit a few stops on the east side. We'll take a break at Revolution Hall around mile 5 (this will be a good spot to bail if you don't want to cross the river). Then it's another 3 miles over to Goose Hollow Inn, where you'll have the option taste the one-of-a-kind Linus Pauling Special. Family friendly, no-drop, and chill pace (~8mph with breaks), led by experienced and risk-averse ride leaders. Vitamin C supplements will be provided. They're good for your health, we swear!!!
