Riding at a relaxed pace to go see the Cherry Blossoms by the river. We’re about to enter spring and on the fist day of Spring we ride to the Cherry Blossoms. This yearly event harkens the release of the long grey winter and droves of Portlanders swarm to see the blossoms. Riders will be encouraged to point out blooming flowers, yell ‘Good Dog’ when we see a dog, ‘CAT’ when we see a cat and to do the honk your arm gesture when we see Trimet or 18 wheelers. We’ve a set playlist which is Japanese City Pop, a glorious groovy vibe that blends RnB/Funk/Disco/Soul through highly skilled muscians. In part this is to honor the significance of Cherry Blossoms in Japanese culture. We will also pause at the Japanese Memorial. Route is going to be relaxed and slow paved and geared towards being family and skate friendly. There will be a store stop for safe clean bathroom access and for people to grab snacks. As with all our rides we ask everyone to practice consent and non-violence. Please be calm and respectful when corking and interacting with drivers.
