From the makers of CARGOPALOOZA... its Secret Cargo Crit... AKA... CARGO BIKE RACING!!! Sure sure, racing "regular" bikes is cool... but have you ever raced CARGO BIKES? Big bikes, fast turns, heavy loads, and nail-biting action awaits! Come race or spectate and enjoy the cargo-tastic vibes! See if you're grocery-getting or kid-hauling skills can stack up against some of the most decorated cargo bike racers on the planet (definitely not hyperbole). All you need is you, a bike made for hauling, and a winning attitude. We'll supply the rest! MEET & RIDE DETAILS: We'll meet at 4pm at Lillis Albina Park, around 4:30 we'll cruise a short ways down the hill to the Interstate DIY skate spot (near N Tillimook & N Lewis Streets). There we'll set up a quick course and get to racing!! Hang and watch the races or join in the fun yourself! HOW'S THE RACE WORK? Racers complete 4 laps on a short closed-course loop. Near the start/finish line there are identical sets cargo: something big, something heavy, and something awkward. Racers ride 1 lap empty, stop to load all the cargo onto their bike, then continue riding 3 laps with their cargo. First one across the finish line with all their cargo wins. We'll form brackets and race until a podium of winners is decided. WHAT DO YOU WIN?? Glory, bragging rights, eternal glory, title of Secret Cargo Crit champ, and free entry into Carry Sh*t Olympics V (coming this September) Sound cool? We think so! See you there!!
